SCALEXIO is a modular and scalable real-time platform designed for the comprehensive development and validation of functions for electronic control units (ECUs). This integrated hardware and software system can be customized with various I/O, bus, and network interfaces to suit diverse applications, from laboratory setups to in-vehicle testing.

In Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests, SCALEXIO simulates the ECU's environment. For Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) projects, it replaces the ECU, enabling real-time experience and testing of control functions within a live system.

Key Application Areas:

  • Rapid control prototyping
  • Signal-level HIL testing
  • Power-level HIL testing
  • Mechanical test benches

Core Benefits:

  • High Scalability: Adapts to any computation and I/O requirement.
  • Advanced Processing: High-performance processors handle complex simulation models in real-time.
  • Versatile I/O: Comprehensive, precise, and fast I/O capabilities powered by FPGA technology.
  • Modern Standards: Supports the latest automotive communication standards, including safety and security features.
  • Openness: Integrates with third-party simulation environments through Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) support.

SCALEXIO systems are available in various configurations, including the compact SCALEXIO LabBox, the SCALEXIO Off-the-Shelf Test System with added simulation capabilities, and highly flexible SCALEXIO Turnkey Test Systems tailored for specific project needs like full vehicle network testing or power HIL systems.

The workflow is simplified: implement your I/O configuration, simulation models, and bus communication using tools like ConfigurationDesk, Bus Manager, and Ethernet Configuration Package. Load your configuration onto the SCALEXIO system and run simulations and tests, monitored by tools such as ControlDesk, Bus Navigator, SYNECT, and AutomationDesk.

Hardware components include various SCALEXIO Chassis (LabBox, AutoBox, Rack System) and Processing Units for powerful real-world testing, alongside a wide range of SCALEXIO boards for I/O, FPGA, and bus communication. Explore the SCALEXIO I/O poster for a detailed overview of available interfaces.
