ControlDesk is the universal experiment software for seamless ECU development, providing a single working environment for all tasks from experiment initiation to completion. It consolidates functions typically requiring multiple specialized tools, offering access to simulation platforms, bus systems, and enabling measurement, calibration, and diagnostics on ECUs via standardized ASAM interfaces. Its flexible, modular structure ensures high scalability for specific application needs, leading to advantages in handling, training, computing power, and cost.

Key capabilities include:

  • Integrated ECU calibration, measurement, and diagnostics (CCP, XCP, ODX).
  • Synchronized data capture across ECUs, RCP and HIL platforms, and bus systems.
  • Powerful layout creation, instrumentation, measurement, and post-processing (ASAM MDF).
  • Support for the entire dSPACE virtual validation tool chain.

ControlDesk is applicable across various domains such as rapid control prototyping (RCP), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, ECU measurement, calibration, and diagnostics, and provides access to vehicle bus systems (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet). It also supports virtual validation with dSPACE products VEOS and SCALEXIO.

ControlDesk Main Version: Suitable for creating and running experiments, and accessing dSPACE real-time hardware and VEOS software. Its functionality can be extended with optional modules.

ControlDesk Operator Version: Offers a subset of functions for running existing experiments, with extendable functionality via optional modules. It provides protection against altering and creating projects and experiments.

Optional Modules:

  • ECU Interface Module: For calibration and measurement access to ECUs and virtual ECUs (V-ECUs).
  • ECU Diagnostics Module: Extends ControlDesk into a comprehensive measurement, calibration, and diagnostic (MCD) tool, supporting classic diagnostic tasks and variable-oriented work.
  • Signal Editor Module: For graphically defining and executing signal generators to stimulate model variables.
  • Bus Navigator Module: For processing bus messages like CAN, LIN, and FlexRay, and Ethernet packets, with dedicated instruments and monitoring capabilities.

Advanced features include Ethernet bus monitoring and logging, and the XIL API EESPort GUI for intuitive failure insertion and simulation. ControlDesk supports various ASAM standards and offers powerful automation capabilities for user-specific extensions and process integration.
